Glamour stakes: Martin Parr - Monash Gallery of Art

Niagara artist Martin Parr will be exhibiting at Monash Gallery of Art with his new solo exhibition, Glamour stakes: Martin Parr.

A selection of works from Parr's Luxury series will be on display, with a particular focus on photographs taken at horse racing events around the world, including the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival, 2008.

Marking the Infinite - Newcomb Art Museum

Newcomb Art Museum presents Marking the Infinite, showcasing works from contemporary women artists from Aboriginal Australia.

Offering a glimpse into the diverse contemporary art practice of Aboriginal Australia, the exhibition features work by Niagara's Angelina Pwerle alongside that of Nonggirrnga Marawili, Wintjiya Napaltjarri, Yukultji Napangati, Carlene West, Regina Pilawuk Wilson, Lena Yarinkura, Gulumbu Yunupingu, and Nyapanyapa Yunupingu.

The Art Gallery of Western Australia presents three related exhibitions, Unknown Land, Dissenting Voices and Gifts to the Fallen. Each offers different a perspective on the colonisation of Western Australia by Europeans.

Mutualism - Contemporary Chinese Ink and Wash Painting Exhibition

The China Cultural Centre, Sydney presents Mutualism - Contemporary Chinese Ink and Wash Painting Exhibition, featuring work by Niagara's Song Ling alongside contemporary Chinese artists, Qiu Zhenzhong, Wang Huangsheng, Chen Ping, Mi Jingming, Zhen Youling, Sun Xiaofeng and Yu Boming.

The exhibition draws attention to the artists' creative practice as an aspect of a broader ecosystem of creativity, innovation, observation, interaction, analyse, cooperation and mutualism.

The R & M McGirvern Prize 2016

Niagara artist Angela Brennan has been shortlisted for the triennial R & M McGirvern Prize 2016 with her work, The anxiety of painting. The theme for this year's prize is 'text' in painting - as found object, marker, descriptor, defacement or formal surface.

Artspace at Realm will hold an exhibition of finalists' work from 16 September - 20 November 2016.

The Beaney House of Art & Knowledge is hosting the touring exhibition Only in England: Photographs by Tony Ray-Jones and Martin Parr, a major exhibition showcasing these two significant photographers.

The exhibition features over 100 works drawn from the Tony Ray-Jones archive at the National Media Museum alongside 30 rarely seen early black and white photographs, The Non-Conformsits, by Niagara photographer Martin Parr.
